There were so many wonderful events happening in Oxford yesterday (and today) for the 150th anniversary of the first time Alice in Wonderland was told, but despite good intentions the entire household woke in a bit of a mood so we didn’t really do anything that we meant to. What we did do was take the train into Oxford, have lunch at Noodle Nation and then I spent some time with MG in Blackwell’s while DG went home with Daddy. Due to complete lack of planning on our part, it was all a bit dull so instead of trying to write up nothing much, here’s the day in rubbish photos:

MG with jammy dodger as big as her head (really linzer biscuit) in Costa in Waterstones, as we consider what to do next.

Somehow we managed to be at the front of a queue for face painting at Blackwell’s but MG not in a smiley mood despite loving her face painted really!

MG with a cookie as big as her head (there seems to be a theme with the biscuits she chose!*) and my raspberry sorbet in G&D’s
* I don’t normally let my children have so many enormous biscuits in one day!

Oh wow that looks like a fun day! I’m totally looking out for giant Jammie dodgers now.
Probably a Costa thing – they also had enormous custard creams, bourbons and ginger creams. Such a shame I’m dieting, they looked lovely! Thank-you for the comment
(I don’t drink tea or coffee so I confuse places like Costa when we only have cakes/biscuits and soft drinks!)
I love your telling-it-like-it-really-is posts about family life – always so warm and funny!
Thank-you! xx
