Not many ‘new’ books this week, we’re definitely in repeat season now. Time for me to make a concerted effort to pick up ones we’ve not read for a while off the shelves. I try to encourage DG to choose something from the shelves, now I’ve tidied them up! This week I put back the ones that had been creeping round the house, so it’s only the review-pile that’s messy now 😉
I’ve also been reading chapters for MG because she never listens to the picture books any more 🙁 This worked well at first, but they’ve stopped listening and started playing up and I’ve been reading to myself while they run around, which really isn’t the object of quiet time before bed so I’m feeling frustrated and ready to give up! At least DG still loves her books, she won’t go to bed without at least
one three stor yies: “I want my storwee!”
100 books milestone shoutout:
Chaos Household ‘new’ picture books read this week:
#300PBs progress: 117/300 = 39.0%
2014vs2013 progress: 117/178 = 65.7%
This month’s prize is a selection of Mother’s Day themed books from Little Tiger Press, Bloomsbury Children’s Books and our bookshelves! The titles included are:
Me and My Mummy: various (Little Tiger Press)
I Want My Mummy: Tracey Corderoy & Alison Edgson (Little Tiger Press)
Mummy’s Little Sunflowers: Angela McAllister (Little Tiger Press)
I Love You Night and Day: Smriti Prasdam-Halls & Alison Brown (Bloomsbury Children’s Books)
Dino-Mummy: Mark Sperring & Sam Lloyd (Bloomsbury Children’s Books)
Five Minutes’ Peace: Jill Murphy (Walker Books)
All in One Piece: Jill Murphy (Walker Books)
A Piece of Cake: Jill Murphy (Walker Books)
Mr Large in Charge: Jill Murphy (Walker Books)
A Quiet Night In: Jill Murphy (Walker Books)
If I get the review copy I’ve requested, there will also be a copy of Mum’s The Word: Timothy Knapman & Jamie Littler (Hodder Children’s Books.) The Little Tiger Press and Bloomsbury Children’s Books titles are review copies, that have been read several times for review but in otherwise generally new condition. However the copy of Mummy’s Little Sunflowers (hardback) has a dent in the top front cover from the post. The Large Family books have been on shelves and repeatedly read over a few years. We take very good care of our books and there is no fading from the sun, no pen/pencil marks and no folded pages or covers but they are not up to my standards to call ‘as new’. Lovingly cared for in a smoke & pet free home. Postage is from my own pocket.
To enter the giveaway, you must* enter the linky and leave a blog comment. The winning entry will be chosen at random from blog post comments. If you don’t leave a comment, I’ll assume you don’t want to enter.
* You can enter by just leaving a blog post comment if you have nothing to link up, just tell me where you are in the challenge or a favourite read from the last week instead.
The giveaway is open to enter until the linky list closes on Sunday 9th March 2014, and a winner will be chosen at random from the comments. Open to UK addresses only I’m afraid but if you’re based elsewhere and have someone in the UK I can send to, that’s not a problem.
