Gift Books Roundup

It’s the last first class posting date in the UK today, although there will still be some next-day delivery options in some online stores, but there are still five shopping days until Christmas so if you’re still stuck for gift ideas, pop along to your local independent bookshop for great advice.

I’ve also written a few children’s books (but suitable for adults too) selections over the last couple of months, and am listing them together here. These are mostly recently published books, so should be easily available. And if you’ve already done your Christmas shopping, why not bookmark the page for ideas to spend and book vouchers or money gifts? 🙂

Beautiful Picture Books for Giving – Fourteen of the most beautifully illustrated and produced picture books published this year, great gifts for children and literature lovers of all ages.

Treasuries to Treasure – Eight wonderful hardback gift collections of stories for any age.

Great Gifts for Nought to Five Year Olds – Seventeen suggestions of interactive, attractive, playable books for under-fives.

The Wonderful World of BabyLit and LoveLit – a beautiful series of board books for babies and adults, and accessories for the children’s literature (or quirky gift) fan in your life.

Great Gifts for Children – Nine interactive books suitable for primary age children, and everyone else too. No batteries required 😉

Gifts for Curious Children – Ten books (or book series) perfect for igniting imagination, taking journeys through history, nature, maths and art; across the planet and through your body!

Favourite Books 2012 – Sixteen of our favourite reads from 2012. Look out for the 2013 version coming soon!

I still have so many more wonderful books to write about too! It’s been a fabulous year for picture books, and we’re really excited to see what 2014 brings. For more book suggestions, why not visit some of the other brilliant children’s book bloggers and see what they’re recommending?

And finally… If you haven’t already, and can find a copy (it’s been selling out everywhere), treat the whole family to Alfie’s Christmas.

Alfie's Christmas: Shirley Hughes (Random House Children's Books, 2013)

Merry Christmas!
